BSS 5th Graders Spearhead American Red Cross Fundraiser
Such an overwhelming response by our student body to kick off the first Student Council Dress Down Day for Charity of 2018! Over $400 was raised to support the efforts of the American Red Cross. Special thanks goes to our 5th Grade Class for spearheading this charitable effort. Mrs. Morris and Mrs. Lugo are very proud that the class had a thoughtful discussion in selecting an organization that “helps people of all ages in a multitude of ways.” The money donated by the students will support the mission of the American Red Cross to shelter, feed and provide emotional support to victims of disasters; supply about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teach skills that save lives; provide international humanitarian aid; and support military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
