The Andrew Benson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Today  is a $3 white/green dress down day. The monies collected will go toward the Andrew Benson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The Andrew Benson Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Andrew Benson, BSS class of 2017 and son of Mrs. Ellen Benson, after Andrew unexpectedly passed away in February 2021. In his 8th grade BSS yearbook, Andrew used the quote from Proverbs 11:27, “Anyone can find the dirt in someone. Be the one that finds the gold.” This is a true testament to his personality. Andrew was a hard worker and an outstanding athlete who overcame educational challenges presented to him and committed to various service opportunities. But most importantly, he was dedicated to his family and friends. Andrew always sought the good in people and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He lit up a room with his smile.

The recipient of this scholarship will be a rising 8th grader who possesses characteristics similar to Andrew: a student who is committed to helping others, determined to see the good in people and make them smile, is able to work through unexpected challenges, and is dedicated to being the best person you can be.

The Benson family is grateful to be able to give back to the community and thankful for your donations and prayers.
